7th & Los Angeles, a project shot over the course of 14 days, features portraits of strangers met within a one-block radius of Jeremy Jackson’s seventh-floor studio on Los Angeles Street between 6th and 7th. The subjects are a cross-section of this rapidly-gentrifying Downtown commerce district, where Spanish-speaking merchants and Skid Row denizens are increasingly made to share sidewalk space with well-heeled yuppies and young artists. A broad range of passersby agreed to be photographed inside the studio, from families out shopping to local fashion designers and street vendors — people from all walks of life, of all sizes, colors, and abilities.
